WNBA ALL-STAR GAME
Introduction:
The abbreviation of WNBA All-Star Game is the Women’s National Basketball Association All-Star Game. The event is a year ending exhibition of the basketball game in the United States of America. It is played between the best female players of the Western and Eastern Conference. These conferences belong to the Women’s National Basketball Association. Each of these conferences is comprised by a total of twelve players that are currently boasting of having the best performance in the season throughout the league. Paper voting as well as internet ballots are held for the voting by the fans of the amateur players in the league. The remaining female players are selected by eminent media personalities and the league professionals. Each game of the WNBA is ended by the naming of a valuable player who is selected by a panel which comprise of members from the media.
History of the WNBA All-Star Game:
In the year 2004, the WNBA All-Star game did not take place in its original format. This was on the account that many of the Women’s National Basketball Association players were competing in the 2004 Summer Olympics. The same year witnessed the defeat of the WNBA All-Star team at the hands of the United States Senior National Women’s Team at the Radio City Music Hall. In the year 2005 the all-star game was played at the Mohegan Sun Arena on the 9th of July. It was the highest scoring game in the history of the all star game. For the first time in the year 2006, the Eastern Conference won the game. |
