NBA FINALS
Introduction:
The NBA Finals were initially called the NBA World Championship Series. The national basketball finals are a championship series held by the National Basketball Association which is played under the best of seven formats of the playoffs. In this pattern, the team that has the best record in the regular season of the national basketball association gets to play the first of the two games and that too, on its home yard. This team plays against the team that has a low win percentage. If the team reaches the finals, then it gets to play the finals on its home court as well. This event is organized at the end of the National Basketball Association and the BAA season from its early days. The NBA Finals was first held in the year 1947. The Larry O’Brien Championship trophy is presented to the winner of the tournament at the ending ceremony. The series which was known as the NBA World Championship series till the year 1986 was renamed as the NBA Finals.
Criticism of the NBA Finals:
The NBA Finals are called the world championships by the officials of the National Basketball Association and by the media of the United States of America despite the fact that it features teams from only the United States. The Canadian teams started competing in the event only from the year 1995. This consequence has become notable as the teams from the United States, which comprises of some of the most elite players from the NBA on its alumni, have not won any major world basketball events. |
