NBA PLAYER CARMELO ANTHONY

Introduction:

NBA player Carmelo Anthony was born on 29th May in the year 1984. As a player of professional basketball in America, he played at the position of small forward in the National Basketball Association’s team, the Denver Nuggets. Carmelo was named after his father who died of cancer at the time when Carmelo was just two years old. Two years after this incident, Anthony kept on staying in the Red Hook Projects in New York, Brooklyn. When Anthony reached the age of eight, his family shifted base to Baltimore. This was where Anthony started winning the local basketball awards. His mother is an African-American and his dad was a Puerto Rican. Anthony has Wilford and Robert as his brothers and Michelle as his sister. He also has a half sister by the name, Daphne. Anthony went to the Towson Catholic High School in the first three years of his high school career. He got the recognition of The Baltimore Suns Metro Player in the year 2001 and also the Baltimore Catholic League Player in the same year.

Anthony’s college career:

Anthony represented the Syracuse University for one season. He had an average of 22.1 points and also 10.0 rebounds in the season, while leading the team to their NCAA tournament title for the first time. He was the leader in the team on account of several factors such as, scoring, the number of minutes played, rebounding, field goals attempted and made and the free throws that were attempted and made. Anthony made himself available for the NBA Draft of 2003 during this period.
