NBA ALL-STARS WEEKEND
NBA All-Star Weekend-Friday:
There are two types of events held by the national basketball association in its NBA All-Stars Weekend on Friday, namely the rookie challenge and the celebrity all star game.
- Rookie Challenge: This game stars selected players in their first year as professionals or the rookies against the sophomores or the professional players in their second year of the league. The rookie challenge was called the rookie game from the year 1994 to the year 1998. The rookie challenge is currently given sponsorship by the T-Mobile company.
- Celebrity All-Star Game: In this game, different celebrities are selected from the acting and singing fields to play with each other in a game of west verses east. Each of the team is allotted a player from the WNBA.
NBA All-Star Weekend-Saturday:
This day features the following games:
- D-League: This game was first held in the year 2007 featuring the best players from the minor league of the national basketball association. It is not held in the same arena as the other All-Star Saturday games.
- Slam dunk Contest: The abilities of some of the best Dunkers of the league of the National Basketball Association are showcased in this competition.
- Three-point Shootout: It features the three best point shooters in the league.
- Shooting Stars Competition: It features a retired and current NBA player and a WNBA player and a starting point guard in a shooting competition.
Legends Classic: This event features the retired players of the NBA. |
